MATERIAL AND CONSTRUCTION
Double braid and intermediate cover.
Core : 12 or 16 Strand braided combination of Dyneema (or Spectra) and aramid Kevlar (or Twaron-Technora) fibres in a specially developed balanced mix.
Outer Cover : 16-24 or 32 strand (depending on rope size) braided cover of High Tenacity (HT) continuous Multifilament Polyster (PES) yarn.
PROPERTIES
Smilar strenght and stretch to steel wire of comparable size whilist uniquely cost effective.
Exceptional abrasion resistance with good handling.
The very low stretch of A-COMBINATION ROPE means that high shock loads (particularly in hallyards) will be directly transmitted to associated fittings such as Spinnaker heads which should be reinforced accordingly.Alternatively a Polyester hallyards could be used.
The outer cover of A-COMBINATION ROPE should always remain in place to protect the Aramid content of the core from UV.
Splice able using the correct technique.
